view from the top
thanks to ron’s curiosity, yesterday me and gwen and ron found out that there is access to our rooftop. here’s one view:
i tried my first martini this week. it tasted like dirty water and vodka. if you haven’t had pepper vodka before, don’t try it. while drinking the martini, i figured it was time to step outside of my ‘coffee and turkey sandwich’ box, so i tried calamari for the first time, too. not bad.what else? well, my dad surprised me and told me that he’ll be in town to see a game on sept. 1st- so he’ll be able to help gwen and i move. this made my week! i’m so excited to share my new life with someone i love. i’m not really homesick, but i do miss my family a lot, so this will make things a little easier until i get to see the whole crew for thanksgiving.so, i had a little bit of a fistfight with the rain on monday morning. the rain won. it didn’t help that i had been drinking martinis the night before. =) so what happened, you ask? well, i left for work during the ten minute block of time that it was POURING. my umbrella shielded me from nothing. before i even made it two blocks to the subway station, the bottom half of my body was ENTIRELY soaked as if i had showered with my clothes on. i had to run back home, squeegee my clothes, pull dirty clothes out of my laundry and grab a taxi. this is the second time that i’ve had to take a taxi to work and both times i couldn’t help but think “i have to work for three hours to pay for this taxi ride”…these are the only two times that i’ve missed my car.i still love the city, perhaps more and more everyday, but there are certain things about the suburbs that i do miss dearly….like target….and michael’s craft stores. so, if anyone wants to send me craft supplies for my upcoming birthday, i’d gladly accept. you know how to reach me. hint, hint, hint, mom.oh, and since some of you have asked, i glued all of the paint samples to my table with super glue. it took about five hours- but i saved about 5 bucks by using duane reade ‘forever glue’ instead of spray adhesive (which is ten bucks at the hardware store).until next time, ciao!
