Bio
Lauren E. Harrison has been a teaching artist and dance educator for over a decade. Some of her outstanding experiences include directing a privately owned dance school, establishing a charter school dance program and teaching dance to at-risk youth. She is a graduate of Arizona State University with a BFA in Dance and a working emphasis in Dance Research and Education. Her experience as a dancer includes over fifteen years of extensive training in Contemporary and Classical forms of dance such as Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Tap. Harrison began her professional dance career in 2005 as a Soloist with Dulce Dance Company, a Phoenix-based Modern dance collective. In 2007, Harrison Co-Founded and Directed 32 Flavors Dance, a Phoenix-based Contemporary Dance Company. While directing 32 Flavors, Harrison had the opportunity to perform as an Audio Ballerina for Benoit Maubrey a Berlin-based artist who designs electro-acoustic performance wear. Inspired by this experience, Harrison moved to New York City to pursue the lifestyle of an independent dance artist who seeks out and welcomes artistic opportunity. She is most passionate about sharing her art with others, mentoring young artists and playing a significant role in the growth and development of children.
